Working our way up. and led by success

Now a successful company with 250 employees, SOLARLUX takes a look back at the eventful time when our two founders started up in a small garage at Sassmicke, near Olpe, full of the pioneer spirit.

 1983
  • The SOLARLUX company is founded by Heinz-Theo Ebbert (died 1990) and Herbert Holtgreife
  • The development of the first folding panel system SL 45

 

 1986
  • Development and launch of the first thermally separated folding system SL 70
  • The product range is supplemented by the SL 35 system

 

 1987
  • Development and launch of the wooden folding system SL 65 and SL 75

 

 1988
  • First overseas contract with the leading Japanese manufacturer of aluminium windows and doors

 

 1991
  • Establishment of proprietary timber production site in Lotte near Osnabrück
  • The product range is supplemented by the SL 50 folding system
  • Opening of the SOLARLUX Swiss subsidiary

 

 1993
  • Opening of the SOLARLUX Netherlands subsidiary
  • Licensing agreement with Israel

 

 1995
  • Licensing agreement with Egypt
  • Move to the new factory in Bissendorf near Osnabrück due to a lack of space at Olpe

 

 
1996
  • Development and launch of the world's first thermally separated horizontally sliding wall, the SL 50-HSW

 

 1997
  • The winter garden roof systems are added to the range
  • Our partnership with the USA begins

 

 1998
  • Opening of SOLARLUX in Bradford, Great Britain

 

 1999
  • Development and launch of the Wood/Aluminium roof system "SDL Avant-garde"
  • Development and launch of the All-Glass SL 25 system for glazing balconies
  • Opening of a sales office in Austria

 

 2000
  • Expansion of aluminium and wood production, as well as the establishment of a 2000 m² exhibition hall full of architectural splendour, including a magnificent winter garden presentation
  • Opening of a sales office in France

 

 2001
  • Development and launch of the SL 66 Wood system and the SL 67 Wood/Aluminium system.

 

 2002
  • Development and launch of the Aluminium systems SL 80 and SL 81
  • Opening of the SOLARLUX Polish subsidiary

 

 2003
  • Development and launch of the winter garden SDL-Akzent plus
  • Opening of a sales office in Japan

 
 
 2004
  • Development and launch of the Aluminium systems SL 60
  • Development and launch of the glass canopy SDL-Ambition
